Poland Day

Poland Day - Thursday 22nd June 2017

Over this school year, Beaconsfield Primary School has started to grow a partnership with Szkola Podstawowa nr 6 (Primary School number 6) in Ruda Slaska, Poland; for this reason we celebrated ‘Poland Day’ on Thursday 22nd June 2017.

Pupils came to school in the colours of the Polish flag – ‘red and white’. Thy also had an opportunity to buy some traditional Polish food and drinks in our ‘Polish Café’. During the day pupils learnt about the best places to visit in Poland; undertook research about variety of different polish traditions and made geometric designs in DesignTechnology including ‘Wycinanki’ and ‘Gwiazdy’.

Pupils in Year 5 wrote letters to their peers in Poland, from Szkola Podstawowa nr 6 School, explaining who they were and some information about their hobbies and interests. The pupils in Year 5 are very excited as they should receive letters from Poland during the coming weeks.

It was an amazing and enjoyable day for everyone across the school.
