SCHOOL 100 YEAR CELEBRATIONS

As you are probably aware this current school year (2008/2009) marks the 100 year centenary for Beaconsfield Primary School.  To celebrate this special occasion we are having a "Victorian Era" theme week in school with classes taking part in old style lessons and other activities from Victorian times.

These celebrations and activities will also be the major focus for our International Evening event on Friday 3rd July where each class will provide some demonstrations or entertainment based upon their "Victorian Era" theme work.

We are also creating a time capsule that will be buried into the wall of the school during the summer holidays when we have construction work taking place.  This time capsule will be ready to be opened in 2058 for the 150th celebrations of the school.

We are making a school DVD to commemorate this special event and on Tuesday 23rd June we have a film crew in school to complete filming in each class.  For this day we are asking that all children come to school dressed in the way that Victorian children would have done.

Also on Tuesday 23rd June we will be inviting parents and carers to come along to school to join us for a picnic lunch event
