Half termly Fundraising Cake and Bake Sales

Schools throughout the country are currently facing huge financial pressures with rising costs and significant cuts to real-term funding. Like many schools, we are looking at a range of ideas of how we can raise funds to enrich the lives of our pupils at school through different fundraising events. We have set ourselves an ambitious goal of raising £10,000 over the next 2 years and this money would be used to upgrade/replace some of the playground equipment in the main playground.

As part of these fundraising efforts, we are running half termly cake sales throughout the year with a different year group each time asked to bring in some cakes/biscuits to sell to the whole school. We ask that these cakes/biscuits are NUT FREE in line with our school policy however we will also be baking some cakes in school which we can guarantee are free of nuts. The cakes baked in school will be sold on a separate table to the other items with a list of ingredients which parents/carers of children with allergies can refer to.

On the day of the cake sale, children will be able to come with their parents/carers into the hall AFTER they have been collected at 3:20pm to purchase these tasty treats. We will NOT be allowing children into the hall to purchase items without a parent/carer to ensure that no pupil inadvertently purchases an item which could contain an ingredient they are allergic to.

All the money raised will go directly towards our fundraising goal.

Location: Main School Hall

Time: from 3:10pm to 3:45pm

Dates and classes LEADING the cake sale (ALL year groups can purchase cakes):

  • Friday 12th December - Year 6
  • Thursday 12th February - Year 5
  • Thursday 26th March - Year 4
  • Thursday 21st May - Year 3
  • Thursday 16th July - Year 2

Reception and Year 1 will also be holding a special cake sale + craft fair from 3:10pm -3:45pm on Thursday 12th March in the Reception Outdoor Learning Area in connection with Mothers’ Day.

Further reminders will be sent before each event. We would also very much appreciate if parents/carers could volunteer to help run the cake sale when it is your child’s year group’s turn. Please do speak to your child’s class teacher if you think you would be able to help with this.

A huge thank you to all parents and carers for supporting us in this important fundraising activity.
